Reading and Writing Experiences

I cannot escape reading and writing because it follows me all throughout life. Whether that is at work when I am reading a patient's allergy restrictions or outside of work when I have to read an informative text for my classes. I have read many texts and books throughout my education, and I would say they have shaped me in becoming more knowledgeable where I can write stronger essays. As a reader and writer in school I am a more serious and formal because I definitely put more time and effort into the passage I am analyzing and the papers I am going to write. Outside of work I am a more hobbyist writer because writing feels more freeing and I don't have to put a lot of thought into it. Reading is also freeing because I have the choice to choose what I want to read about like an unserious text or a recipe for a dish I am planning on making.

In this course, one of my hopes for the end of the semester is to learn how to be able to build more confidence in my writings and find my own personal voice when writing an argumentative essay. With this I also hope to develop my own personal style and approach and make writing something that is fun to me rather than it just being something that needs to be done.

My favorite hobby at the moment is hot yoga sculpt. I use this time to forget about school and work and just focus on my peace of mind and my body. In my class, there is some interaction with the people around you also participating in this workout as well as the instructor. Everyone is very uplifting and motivating towards one another and a lot of positive affirmations are said in the beginning and end of class. My favorite things that are said are in the beginning of our workout when we are given a motivational quote to take within us and think about during the time we are doing our workout. Things such as bringing positive change into your life or allowing yourself to learn how to accept what comes our way.
Yoga doesn't seem to be so based on reading and writing but I come to learn that a lot of aspects actually do involve these two. For example, when I became more interested with this activity and I would hear my instructor going in depth to which muscle we will be working on I picked up a book from amazon called Science of Yoga . My instructor told me that in order to get to the position she has know she had to read a lot about the physiology aspect on yoga before being able to teach a class. There are also other type of books that I have found that have similar positive affirmations that are given to us in the beginning of class and during our relaxation period of shavasana , such as the book Everyday Mantras by Asel Gunar.
